Alexandre Lacazette is ready to rejoin the Arsenal squad, having returned to full first-team training following knee surgery. Lacazette last played at the beginning of February in the North London Derby, where he missed two gilt-edged chances to give Arsenal an unlikely point. Whether Lacazette is involved this weekend remains to be seen, with Steve Bould, standing in for a sick Arsene Wenger at this week’s press conference, unsure of Lacazette’s level of involvement. In Lacazette’s absence, Danny Welbeck has started in the Europa League, scoring twice as Arsenal advanced past AC Milan.
Jack Wilshere also trained with the first-team, having missed both England matches. Wilshere, looking to play for the national team for the first time since 2016, had to pull out from the squad after a flare-up of a knee tendon. The problem, though, seems to be minor and while doing harm to Wilshere’s chances to play for England this summer, shouldn’t see the 26-year old miss significant time for Arsenal.
