Arsenal’s Europa League knockout games begin with an away match in Sweden. Much of the buildup to the match has been cold and snow jokes, but Östersunds have come to play, with no losses in either the qualification or group stages, and just one draw.
Arsenal need to take the Europa League seriously now to increase their chances of making back to the Champions League, but they won’t be able to field a full-strength side today thanks to a rash of injuries—Aaron Ramsey is out with a groin injury, and will be for the return fixture as well, Alexandre Lacazette is out for at least four weeks after a knee procedure, and Jack Wilshere, Petr Cech, and Laurent Koscielny didn’t travel to Sweden with the team. Our midfield should be interesting today. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang also won’t be able to play, as he is cup tied.
