Transfer Rumor: Juventus attempting to sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere?

The Italian giants looking for midfield reinforcements, apparently.

Juventus are the giants of Italy. Currently chasing their 7th straight Serie A title, in a pitch battle with Napoli for the honours, they have regained dominance over the league since being unceremoniously dumped due to match fixing. They are a prestigious club that attracts some of the games top talent. Apparently, this includes Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere.

Wilshere’s career has been an up and down roller coaster of hype, thanks to injuries and inconsistent play, but to go from a year long loan at Bournemouth, a middling return to Arsenal to potentially joining Juventus is a silly run. Granted, since getting into the side, Jack has been a solid performer for Arsenal, showing brief glimpses of his once-projected-talent but, overall, he’s displayed his value as a squad player who Arsenal can rely on (when healthy) and occassionally get a very good game out of (when healthy).

Reportedly, Juventus sees the value in that and have inquired with the midfielder’s representatives about a potential switch to Italy, as Wilshere’s contract is up in the summer. This could be particularly enticing as Arsenal’s offer to the former-English-great-hope actually contained a pay cut to £90,000-a-week, from his previous £110,000-a-week. Perhaps Juventus could offer more. Perhaps they just need someone to remind them what Spurs actually is.

However, Jack is in his heart an English boy and it’s been rumoured he is still keen to stay with Arsenal and prove he is still capable of being valuable to this team despite his injury record. Should he stay fit, few would say that he wouldn’t be but... that’s a big should. It would shocking, though, to see Arsenal and Jack walk away from each other this summer, despite interest from abroad..
