Arsenal host Chelsea at the Emirates in one of the most important games of the season.
The Gunners really need a good result today—they’ve dropped a lot of points in the last few games, and they need to stay within range of the other top four contenders. Injuries and fatigue (and most recently a certain referee) have made the winter difficult, and Arsenal will have to find some sort of solution today against a strong Chelsea side. Chelsea have won four of their last five, including a 5-0 drubbing of Stoke.
Arsenal aren’t anywhere near full strength. Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud, and Nacho Monreal are all still out, and Sead Kolašinac joins them on the injury report, expected to miss two weeks with an ankle problem. Laurent Koscielny will also probably miss this game. We can expect to see a back three of Shkodran Mustafi, Per Mertesacker, and Calum Chambers, along with Ainsley Maitland-Niles at left back.
Meanwhile, Chelsea will only be missing David Luiz—Eden Hazard and Andreas Christensen should return for the Blues today.
