Alexis Sanchez leaves his hotel, Henrikh Mkhitaryan leaves his team

“I leave hotels all the time, where’s my news flash?” you are probably saying

It’s nowhere near as cool as, say, 2013’s Bud Norris trade that saw the pitcher move from the Astros to the Orioles while the Astros were playing the Orioles, but we have some definite progress in the two player moves that we’re all expecting to happen shortly.

Earlier today, Henrikh Mkhitaryan was spotted saying a tearful goodbye to his Manchester United teammates (no news as to whether Jose shed a tear, but I’ll let you guess whether he did or not), and just now comes word that Alexis Sanchez has checked out of the Arsenal team hotel as of 11PM London time. I mean, it’s possible he forgot his PJ’s and had to run home, I guess, but c’mon, he’s rich; he could have sent someone to get them if he really wanted his favorite jam jams.

So it would seem that the Alexis to Manchester and Henrikh to London is rapidly becoming a thing. Stay tuned.
