Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke to the press today ahead of this Saturday’s Emirates Stadium clash against Crystal Palace. In addition to providing some unusually candid comments about transfer machinations, the boss also provided updates on the state of the squad.
As recorded on the dot com, the Frenchman had mostly good news. Defenders Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal are likely to make their returns to the squad, hopefully providing Arsenal with something that at least resembles more stability at the back. German playmaker Mesut Ozil, meanwhile, is a “maybe” at this point.
Some players, however, are still a little short. Ainsley Maitland-Niles was sick with the flu yesterday and may therefore miss out this weekend. French international striker and ridiculously good looking human Olivier Giroud is one week away from fitness.
The return of Koscielny, Monreal, and Ozil would be more than welcomed after the defeat to AFC Bournemouth last weekend. Hopefully the return of these seasoned players will help Arsenal get back to winning ways.
