The dominos, they just keep falling. Hot on the heels of the Alexis news from earlier comes confirmation of a story that started yesterday - after passing his medical (bullet dodged, Everton!), Theo Walcott today joined the blue side of Liverpool for a fee reported to be in the £20 million range, according to club “leak” distributor David Ornstein:
Theo Walcott has completed his move to Everton from Arsenal - deal agreed, medical passed contract signed. Fee in excess of £20m #EFC #AFC

Thus endeth the career of the second-longest serving Arsenal player. 10 12 years and lots of memories, many of them frustrating but some of them completely awesome. Walcott was a guy who never really caught sustained fire at the Emirates, due to injuries and a somewhat misplaced desire to be a center forward. Regardless, hopefully he’ll have an injury-free run at Everton and he and Wayne Rooney can form the most ferocious strike force 2008 ever saw.
What is normally a quiet month for Arsenal is proving to be nothing but this season, and there are more moves almost certainly on the way. Hang on to whatever you feel the need to hang on to.
