Arsenal’s sort-of-clearout continues today, as the little-used Lucas Perez agreed a loan deal to re-join Deportivo La Coruna:
Lucas Perez going back to Deportivo La Coruna on loan. No purchase option in deal

Lucas, of course, came the other direction last year, in a £17 million move, but since arriving at Arsenal he has failed to make an impression. He made 11 league appearances and 10 in various cups, scoring 7 in those appearances.
He was a useful enough player who never really found a home at Arsenal, and towards the end of last season made it known he’d rather go back to Spain if it was all the same to Arsenal. Turns out it was, but it took the summer to get it resolved. I’m sorry it didn’t work out for the young man, but I hope going back home is as good for him as he hopes it will be.
The loan does not include a purchase obligation, so this may not be the end of his Arsenal career, although it probably is given his lack of playing time here and his desire to play more.
