Well this just keeps getting more and more interesting doesn’t it? Alexis Sanchez may be staying at Arsenal after all. The team apparently ran out of time to finalize the signing of Thomas Lemar with the player due to play for France in less than three hours.
Sanchez stays at Arsenal after Gunners run out of time to agree deal with Thomas Lemar Transfer deadline day: live https://t.co/ehNB5ykc6M

Arsenal reportedly came to an agreement to buy Lemar from Monaco for a little over £90 million, but did not get the player to agree to join before having to report to the stadium for international duty. Thus Arsenal have withdrawn their offer for Thomas Lemar believing there is not enough time to get a deal done.
Arsenal now adamant Sanchez will stay. Man City left it too late. And getting Lemar over the line at this late stage is nigh on impossible.

Now without a replacement for Alexis, Arsenal will not be selling him to Manchester City, choosing to forego £60 million for a player with less than a year left on his contract. This would be a big risk for the club going forward.
It looks like it may turn out to be an uneventful transfer deadline day after all.
