Alexis’ contract with Arsenal has less than one year remaining, and he would have been able to leave for free next summer. Arsene Wenger said many times that he refused to sell Alexis, and would rather see him walk for free than sell him to a rival.
That thinking appears to have now changed with Alexis on his way to Man City to reunite with his old manager at Barcelona, Pep Guardiola.
Alexis has made 104 appearances for Arsenal and has scored 53 goals for the club. He would be the most talented player to leave Arsenal since Robin Van Persie left to join Manchester United.
There is some news that Arsenal are looking to add Thomas Lemar as the replacement for Alexis. Buckle up for the next few hours everyone.
