Monday cannon fodder: more important than sports

Hurricane Harvey Slams Into Texas Gulf Coast Photo by Scott Olson/Getty Images

Sports are fun, usually. But, and this is a super-cheesy transition and I know it, there are a lot of people not having fun right now in the Houston area. 24 inches of rain Saturday, and areas expected to get up to 50 inches more by mid-week. Portland, a famously rainy city, gets an average of 44 inches of rain a year, and from the sounds of it Houston will get that in the next two days.

So, Houston needs help, as does a big stretch of the Gulf coast that was pummeled by Hurricane Harvey. If you’re in Texas, I hope you and yours are safe. If you’re not in Texas, you can help those who are in any number of ways. SBN has put together a list of places where you can donate money and/or goods to help the Gulf coast recover from what is truly a catastrophic storm, one that is still going on.
