Alexandre Lacazette is undergoing a medical today with an announcement unlikely to be made today, reports the BBC’s David Ornstein.
As widely reported Lacazette is undergoing medical ahead of completing club-record move from Lyon to Arsenal. Announment unlikely today #AFC

Lacazette, who has been on the verge of signing for Arsenal for nearly a week, will join for around €45-50m, according to the annoyingly talkative Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas. That would be around £43.8m, slightly more than Arsenal paid Real Madrid for Mesut Özil in 2013, making the deal a record for the club. One imagines that the deal will be concluded today, with an announcement tomorrow.
Some of Arsenal’s first team returned for pre-season training today, with Petr Cech, Sead Kolasinac, Theo Walcott, Mesut Özil and Danny Welbeck all present. Arsenal’s tour begins next week, with matches against Sydney FC and Western Sydney Wanderers in Australia and Bayern Munich and Chelsea in China, before returning to England for the Emirates Cup in the final weekend of July and the Community Shield against Chelsea on 6 August.
UPDATE: Appears it might be all over but the, ugh, paperwork:
Lacazette medical done just paperwork to finish. Arsenal have more targets but any deals now likely to depend on Sanchez/Ozil/Ox/others #AFC

Promising signs that Arsenal are set to add a shiny new striker to the team. The later half of the tweet also suggests that Arsenal are far from done, although, waiting on the likes of Alexis or Oxlaide-Chamberlain might lead to some dragging of heels. Let’s hope they can get on with it soon.
