In an interview with what appears to be the official website of the various Polish national football teams, Krystian Bielik stated that he is on the verge of joining Championship side Norwich City on loan.
The 19 year old center back joined the Gunners from Legia Warsaw in 2015 as a defensive midfielder but was transitioned into defense over the course of his Arsenal youth career. He went out on loan to Championship side Birmingham City for the second half of the 2016/17 season and did well in 10 appearances for the club, even though he did not feature much after the introduction of Harry Redknapp as club manager.
A mobile, solid defender with the passing ability of a midfielder, Bielik fits the mold of a modern Premier League center back. Norwich City’s manager, Daniel Farke, comes from Borussia Dortmund II. It seems safe to assume that he will be implementing a possession-based, attacking system with the Canaries. Bielik has maxed out his ability to grow at the youth ranks so this move would certainly a positive one for his development. A strong campaign in the second division of English football could propel him into consideration for the Arsenal first-team next season, particularly if the club retains the back three formation.
