Arsenal labored but got the job done Wednesday against Southampton in their quest to retain their CL qualification streak. Still nine points to be won, though, so Arsenal aren’t in a place where they can take their foot off the gas. Dropping any one of those nine points means that, regardless of other results that might have helped, Thursday Night Channel Five next season is the reality with which they’ll be faced.
