Jack Wilshere will likely miss the end of Bournemouth’s campaign after fears that he suffered a fracture in his leg following scans on Tuesday. It is the same area of his fibula that caused him to miss most of last season, with Wilshere yet again suffering a recurrence of an injury. Wilshere suffered the injury on Saturday while trying to win the ball back after he had cheaply lost possession in a dangerous area.

Wilshere has played 27 times for Bournemouth, contributing only 2 assists, and failing to score. With one year left on his contract and having suffered another injury, doubts about his viability for Arsenal will resurface, and one imagines interest from clubs like Bournemouth, at one point strong, will subside. Wilshere has not played 30 games in a season since 2013-14. Wilshere, who left Arsenal in order to return to the England squad, has not been called up for his country since last summer’s disastrous exit to Iceland.
