Mesut Özil’s got a book coming out! He tweeted about it this morning. And he looks so natural while he’s “reading” his book! Check it out:

If you can’t see the tweet, the Arsenal star says “If you want to get to know my full story grab a copy of my biography. German version is launching March, 16th. English will follow soon!”

The German website Bild already has an excerpt detailing a spat between Özil and Jose Mourinho during his time at Real Madrid. It contains the passage, “He pauses. Stare at me with his dark brown eyes. I stare back. Like two boxers at the stare-down before the first round. He shows no emotion. Just waits for a response from me. How much I hate him right now.”

Now, I don’t want to go overboard but I think my college creative writing professor would be pretty impressed with Özil’s prose here.

Other subjects of note, according to Football365 include Özil’s transfer in the summer of 2010, when many clubs, Arsenal included, tried to sign him following his performance in the World Cup. I’m sure there will also be plenty of interesting details on how he eventually ended up at Arsenal three years later, as well as his relationship with Arsène Wenger.
