Transfer rumor time! According to The Guardian, via our good friends at Royal Blue Mersey, Arsenal could be planning on a summer move for Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.

The folks at Royal Blue Mersey certainly seem to like Gueye a lot. They refer to him as “a poor man’s N’Golo Kante” and note, “the Senegalese international leads the entire Premier League in tackles with 101 and is 3rd among midfielders in interceptions per game with 2.6.”

Which sounds pretty good! Arsenal could certainly use some help in central midfield. Santi Cazorla, due to age and injury, really can’t be relied upon these days, Aaron Ramsey has plenty of his own health-related issues, and Francis Coquelin is, well, not good.

No real indication, however, as to how much Everton would ask for for Gueye. They bought him before the start of this season for around £7 million pounds, and would certainly be looking to make a big profit before selling him after only a year. Also of note, Royal Blue Mersey seems skeptical that the club would even consider selling him.
