The FA Cup returneth, and with it returneth lower league opposition in the form of Lincoln City FC. Lincoln are six points clear at the top of the National League (the same league that Sutton United are in), and are the first non-league team to get this far in the Cup in over a century. The Imps will come to the Emirates and play, in manager Danny Cowley’s words, “nine 10 minute games” in an attempt to cause a Wrexham-style upset. Which, I have to admit, is a very intriguing strategy - I honestly don’t think Wrexham have the players to compete, but by mentally re-setting them every 10 minutes, the enormity of their challenge is made more manageable.

The FA Cup is, realistically, all Arsenal have left to play for this season. Whether winning it is enough to keep Wenger around or not is the big question, and no one’s saying anything to that end, but winning this game gets Arsenal one step closer to finding out.

Iwobi, Özil, and Welbeck are all sick with whatever virus has torn through the club this week and are doubts.
