It’s London derby time! Arsene Wenger is still serving his touchline ban, our central midfield is like the soccer form of a shrug emoji, and we’re heading away to the league leaders, so GET HYPE.
When:
Saturday, February 4th, 2017, 4:30 AM PT/7:30 AM ET/12:30 PM BT
Where:
Stamford Bridge, London, in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham in West London, to be precise.
Importance:
Chelsea leads the Premier League and is the overwhelming title favorite at this point. Arsenal, meanwhile, is coming off of a brutal loss to Watford. Any scenarios left where Arsenal win the league would have to involve winning this match. And even if we don’t have any chance of winning the league, hey, it’s a derby, and Chelsea is a loathsome club in almost every respect, so beating them would be nice.
Player News:
Not ideal. Aaron Ramsey is hurt, Granit Xhaka is banned, Elneny is still away at AFCON and eve if he wasn’t, he’s hurt. We have one fit central midfielder and that is Francis Coquelin.
Probable starters:
Cech, Monreal, Koscielny, Mustafi, Bellerín, Coquelin, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Iwobi, Özil, Walcott, Alexis
