Following Arsenal’s 2-0 win over Sutton United on Monday, Arsenal progressed to the next round of the FA Cup, where they’ll face Lincoln City with a trip to the semifinal on the line. All of the quarterfinal games are set for Saturday, March 11, a very traditional day for a very traditional competition. Trouble is, Arsenal are scheduled to play Leicester City in the Premier league that same day.

Even though these are finely tuned, well-conditioned athletes, and even though both games are at the Emirates, it’s probably a bit too much to ask that Arsenal play in the FA Cup at 3 and in the league at this game’s currently scheduled KO of 5.30, so the league match will be rescheduled.

As opposed to the fixture nightmare facing Manchester United and Manchester City, this one shouldn’t be too hard to find a date for - Arsenal are effectively out of the Champions League, which frees up a few of those dates, and unless Leicester can keep the dream of a relegated team winning the CL alive, they’ll probably have European dates free soon as well.

Details on the new fixture date and time will be announced shortly.
