It may lack the luster of Arsenal vs. Tottenham, but the linguistically consistent person in me feels the need to point out that this game is in fact a derby. Arsenal top up their Oyster cards and make the 38 minute trip on the tube from Arsenal to West Ham’s London Stadium to take on the Hammers.
West Ham, of course, are fresh off their own derby win, a 1-0 shutdown of Chelsea in which they scored in the sixth minute and basically denied Chelsea the chance to do anything at all for the remaining 84. If they defend similarly against Arsenal, it could be a long evening for the Gunners, particularly without an injured Aaron Ramsey trying to unlock that defensive pressure.
David Moyes seems to have West Ham turning in the right direction, but let’s be honest - this is a team in 19th place, who will struggle to get out of the relegation places all season, and it’s a game Arsenal need to take maximum points from in order to be taken seriously in their top four challenge.
