David Moyes has declared that he would be interested in signing Jack Wilshere for West Ham in the upcoming January transfer window if the midfielder is available. Wilshere is a boyhood West Ham fan, and of course, has entered the final 6 months of his contract at Arsenal, with talks yet to begin over an extension.
Wilshere is likely to be on the bench again on Wednesday, with Arsène Wenger likely to use Francis Coquelin or Mohamed Elneny in place of Aaron Ramsey, and perhaps returning to a back four, with a more creative player—Alex Iwobi for example—being brought into the side further up the pitch. Wilshere has not yet started a game in the Premier League, and while playing in every Carabao Cup and Europa League match for Arsenal, has only played 86 minutes in the Premier League.
Moyes is looking for players who would be able “to go right into the team and play well,” with “Wilshere [being] someone who we’d have to look at if he was available.”
