Injury update: Kos and Welbeck

And we had just gotten them back, too.

Things continue to go downhill after the Watford match, with Arsene Wenger briefly addressing the substitutions of Danny Welbeck and Laurent Koscielny.

Welbeck left the pitch just over fifteen minutes into the second half with a hamstring issue, according to Wenger. Kos was replaced by Rob Holding in the 85th minute with a “muscular problem.” Both players had just returned from layoffs stemming from other injuries, Welbeck from a groin pull and Kos from an ankle issue. Kos in particular would be a big loss given that Arsenal are already missing his fellow centerbacks Shkodran Mustafi and Calum Chambers with injuries of their own.

Wenger’s explanation was very short and non-specific and came soon after the end of the match, so there will likely be more information on Welbeck and Kos later today or tomorrow. There was no mention of severity or recovery time for either player. For now, we can still hope that both will be healthy again soon.
