Arsenal got a special visitor in training yesterday. Sir Mo Farah, newly minted Knight and four-time Olympic gold medalist, dropped by to visit the squad, per ESPN FC.
Farah was given a personalized Arsenal track suit, which you can check out in pictures of him posing with Wenger, above, or with Danny Welbeck here. Also, hey, Danny Welbeck’s alive!
Farah is a British distance runner who has claimed gold medals in the 5,000 and 10,000 meter races at the past two Olympics.
He is also a well known Arsenal supporter, having participated in charity matches for the club in the past, and according to ESPN FC, he even tried to call his son Arsenal. Ha, and you thought buying a scarf showed dedication.
Farah also apparently engaged in some light training with the Gunners, per ESPN FC. No word yet, however, on whether he showed enough to merit an emergency depth signing in central midfield.
