Arsenal is sending 19-year-old midfielder Ismael Bennacer out on loan to Ligue 2 side Tours FC for the rest of the season, per Arsenal Youth. Bennacer, according to our own resident youth team expert FBJ0, is a creative midfielder and a solid prospect overall.
That sentiment is backed up by Jeorge Bird at Arsenal Youth, who says, “Bennacer is usually deployed as a central midfielder and is a fine passer of the ball.” He also mentions that Bennacer is a tough tackler, so it sounds like Arsenal has got itself a midfielder who can do both.
The youngster has only made one senior appearance for the Gunners, which came in a league cup match last season against Sheffield Wednesday. He was also a part of the Algeria squad that recently competed in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Bennacer joins a Tours side that is currently in the relegation zone, so hopefully he can see some immediate playing time.
