Arsenal have drawn the Cinderella story of the 2016-17 FA Cup in Sutton United for the fifth round proper.
Having dispatched Southampton 5-0 on the weekend thanks to a brace from Danny Welbeck and a hat trick from Theo Walcott, Arsenal moved quite comfortably through to the final 16. For their part, Sutton too looked comfortable in a 1-0 win over Leeds United.
It marks the furthest Sutton has ever reached in FA Cup history with two notable victories over top teams in their history: a previous win over Leeds in 1969-70 and a huge win in the 1988-89 cup over a very, very talented Coventry City side. Sutton is currently 16th in the National League, the fifth level in English football league system, having been promoted from the National League South a year ago.
Arsenal are seeking a record 13th FA Cup championship. Manchester United, the current trophy holders, tied Arsenal with their 12th win in the 2015-16 FA Cup.
The game will be played sometime between February 17th and 20th just days after Arsenal head to Germany to play Bayern Munich in the first of two games in the Round of 16 in the 2016-17 UEFA Champions League on February 15th.
