Arsenal has made a winter transfer signing!

For a seventh division left back.

This news comes courtesy of Sky Sports, who report that said left back, a 20-year-old named Cohen Bramall, had a trial at the Arsenal Training Center before Christmas and performed well enough that he has been training with the club since then.

Bramall currently plays for Hednesford in the Evo-Stik Northern Premier League, which is apparently a real thing, in the seventh division of English soccer. Arsenal will be paying £40,000 for Bramall. And some people say Wenger does not spend money.

At only 20, Bramall is more of a signing for the future than an immediate upgrade for the squad, which is fine since Arsenal already has two decent left backs in Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs.

The good news is, Bramall is young enough that we as fans have plenty of time to build our expectations of him up to unreasonable levels before complaining that he never reached his potential.
