Speaking to the official club website, Aaron Ramsey, Welsh midfielder and noted Collateral Beauty liker, says that his main personal hope for 2017 is to stay injury-free:
“It's obviously been a very frustrating season for me so far, especially coming off a very good Euros with Wales. I wanted to kick on and get going this season, but it's been a bit stop-start again. It's something that I am trying to work on and trying to find out what's right for me, and hopefully that will be the case from now on and I can stay fit.
Ramsey spoke a bit about why it is so difficult to get one’s place back in the squad after injury:
As soon as you are in and out of the team you have to keep doing the same routines and get back to full fitness each time, so it takes a while...You have to get your fitness up in training, work your way back in, so it is frustrating.
Arsenal have missed Ramsey’s drive and knack for showing up from deep to score goals from the number 8 position this year, and while Francis Coquelin doesn’t offer quite the same skill set from the middle, his work along with the recent emergence of Granit Xhaka and Mohamed Elneny have ensured that the dropoff hasn’t been too great.
Still, we miss you, Rambo. Get well soon and do this some more.
