When:
Tuesday, January 3, 2017
11:45 AM PT/2:45 PM ET/7:45 PM BT
Where:
Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth
Importance:
A win takes us back into third place, a point behind second, and keeps Arsenal “only” nine points behind Chelsea at worst ahead of their visit to White Hart Lane tomorrow.
Player News:
Santi Cazorla is definitely out. Danny Welbeck, Kieran Gibbs, and Theo Walcott are probably all unavailable, despite the fact Welbeck’s been in full training for a bit now. It’s probably too soon, and he’s the last guy you want to rush back from an injury. It sounds like Mesut Özil’s still sick, so let’s assume for the moment that he’s unavailable. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Shkodran Mustafi were both on the bench against Crystal Palace on Sunday; one figures there’s an off-chance Mustafi could start but there’s no report there either way yet.
How to watch:
In the US, NBCSN, NBC Universo. Also, streaming online on NBC Sports Live Extra. In the not-US, check out livesoccer.tv.
Probable starters:
Here’s my (hopeful) guess at a lineup:
Cech; Bellerín, Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Xhaka, Ramsey; Alexis, Iwobi, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Giroud
Actual lineups:
