With the FA Cup tie against Southampton on Saturday approaching rapidly, Arsenal has several players who have been out due to injury. On Thursday, Arsene Wenger offered his remarks about one of these players who is available for the upcoming fixture. Wenger confirmed that Theo Walcott will return to the squad for the fixture against Southampton.

The Evening Standard notes that Arsene Wenger is confident that,

“Theo Walcott will return to the Arsenal squad for Saturday’s FA Cup tie against Southampton, Arsene Wenger has confirmed.”

Theo has not appeared for Arsenal since December 18th when he played against Manchester City. Unfortunately, pundits initially thought that the injury he sustained during that match would not cause him to miss a significant amount of time. Clearly, the knock that he sustained was more serious than people originally thought. Wenger did not specify if Theo would start the match against Southampton on Saturday but he should receive some playing time.

Welcome Back Theo! The team could certainly use your athletic prowess with the fixtures that are on the schedule.
