When:
Sunday, January 22nd, 2017
6.15AM PT/9.15AM ET/2.15PM BT
Where:
Emirates Stadium, Ye Olde Londone Towne
Importance:
The thing about the Premier League this year is that the top teams don’t really lose. There have been two losses in the last 20 games featuring the current top four teams in the Premier League (one of which was Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat at City, of course, the other’s being Chelsea’s loss to Spurs), so while it’s nice to have this lovely section called “importance” in these previews, it’s really kind of a nuance-free thing now; Arsenal have to win and keep winning, and hope that they can nick a point here and there from the top sides.
Burnley are in 10th, 18 points behind Arsenal, but of their 26 points, all but one have come at home, and the Clarets have only scored three times on the road, so.
Player News:
Bellerin, Gibbs, Coquelin, and Giroud are all available after having recovered from their various niggles. Theo Walcott’s still out.
Probable starters:
Cech, Monreal, Koscielny, Mustafi, Gabriel, Xhaka, Ramsey, Iwobi, Ozil, Alexis, Giroud
