Heather O’Reilly, former star for the U.S. Women’s National Team, is bringing freedom to North London. Reporter Glen Crooks says O’Reilly is set to join Arsenal this spring.

O’Reilly had an illustrious international career with U.S. Soccer, receiving over 200 caps and winning the 2015 Women’s World Cup as well as three(!) Olympic Gold medals. Now, she brings her skills to an Arsenal team that finished 3rd in last year’s Football Association Women’s Super League, the top flight of English women’s soccer.

For the moment, however, it looks like O’Reilly will only play for the Gunners in the FA WSL spring series, and return to FC Kansas City in June. The spring series is a special competition running while the FA WSL moves to a fall-to-spring season format. Are you paying attention, MLS?

However, Dan Lauletta of Equalizer Soccer has hinted O’Reilly could have options in her contract to stick with the Gunners for longer.
