Fake news is all the rage these days, and yesterday our own Arsène Wenger got in on the fun.
Per Arseblog, Wenger was asked in his press conference today about whether or not the club really had made a big bid for Torino striker Andrea Belotti.
“That is what you call these days ‘fake news’,” Wenger said. Savage.
“We have Welbeck coming back, we have Giroud, we have Sanchez, we have Walcott, we have Perez who is doing very well now. We have Chuba Akpom, we have Sanogo, we have many strikers!”
I for one kind of just forgot Yaya Sanogo was still on the squad, but that’s good news I guess.
Another topic of note in the press conference was the future of young Carl Jenkinson, who is a possibility to move out on loan in the next few days, according to Wenger. To Crystal Palace, as one intrepid reporter asked?
“You sound well-informed,” Wenger responded.
Lastly, in injury news, Özil is apparently fit now-yay!-but Walcott is still nursing a calf problem and will miss the matches against Swansea City and Burnley-not yay!
