Having beaten Nottingham Forest 4-0 on Tuesday, Arsenal have a home draw against Reading in the 4th round of the EFL Cup, following Wednesday’s draw. The match will happen either on October 25 or 26, coming during a busy spell of games for Arsenal, being the 4th game in 10 days.
Arsenal, of course, have previous against Reading in the 4th round of the EFL Cup, having played them in the 2012-13 iteration, then called the Capital One Cup. That was, of course, the famous 7-5 game, when Arsenal came back from a 4-0 deficit, and Marouane Chamakh scored twice. After winning that match, Arsenal went on to lose against Bradford City in the quarter-finals, where Gervinho missed an open goal, so Arsène Wenger will probably hope for a different turn of events, while still winning.
Arsenal a good record against the Royals, having won every single meeting. The last meeting was also in a cup competition, with Arsenal winning 2-1 after extra time in the 2015 FA Cup semifinal.
