EA Sports has released the player ratings for the latest iteration of its popular FIFA video game series. Follow the link to see the FIFA 17 goods for yourself. A couple of thoughts after looking at the ratings for Arsenal’s players:

  • Mesut Ozil is rated 89 overall, good for 3rd for all Premier League players behind Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. You can roll your eyes at Ibra’s inclusion at the top, but this is a very good rating for the German playmaker.
  • Alexis Sanchez is next up at 87 which puts him in the top 10, but behind Paul Pogba.
  • EA thinks that Aaron Ramsey and Granit Xhaka should be our midfield two. Both are rated 84s, while Santi Cazorla is rated 86 and Francis Coquelin is rated 81. (86 + 81)/2 = 83.5 < 84. It’s just math.
  • Other new boys, Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez are rated 83 and 81, respectively.
  • Mathieu Debuchy is an 80 and Hector Bellerin is a 79. L-O-L.
  • Yaya Sanogo is 69.
  • Alex Iwobi, he of our top XI, probably, is a 70. JEFF is a 63.

What say you of these FIFA ratings?
