Well, that was more like it. And on the back of that tidy little win over Hull City, Arsenal travel to the East Midlands to open up their pursuit of the Historically So Many Sponsor Names But Sponsorless This Year Cup, known for now as the EFL Cup.
I’ve given up trying to hope for the best midfield pairing, and this cup has historically been one for rolling out the kids and reserves, so I have no idea who to expect to see - but I hope we get to see Rob Holding and Lucas Perez get a start. It looks like Gabriel might play a bit too, although he’s not 90 minutes ready just yet, but that’s why these games are good - they give first teamers a chance to stretch out a bit before the arguably more important weekend action.
When:
Tuesday, Sept 20, 2016
11.45AM PT/2.45PM ET/7.45PM BT
Where: City Ground, Nottingham
Importance: I’m sure these EFL Cup games are important to someone. All snark aside, Arsenal are unbeaten in five, and I for one want that streak to continue.
Key players:
For Forest, of course, there’s, uh, well, y’know. But really, all eyes will be on Lord Bendtner tomorrow. Did you also know Henri Lansbury plays at Forest? Me neither!
Key injuries/omissions: Everyone who was healthy is still healthy. Giroud will not play.
Probable starters: Dealer’s choice, really.
How to watch:
US TV: hahahaa right. Arsenal Player’s your only source for broadcast of this one, friends.
