Arsenal have officially announced the signing of Valencia defender and German international Shkodran Mustafi. It’s for the traditional Undisclosed Fee and Long-Term Deal, so obviously we don’t know exactly how much any of this is going to cost, but based on the information we’ve had up to this point the best guess is that the fee is somewhere in the neighborhood of £35 million, and Mustafi will be on a contract term of five years.

In addition to Everton, Sampdoria, and Valencia, Mustafi’s been part of the German national team for the past couple of years, appearing in both the 2014 World Cup and UEFA Euro 2016. He even scored Germany’s first goal in the Euros, which is pretty cool. He has only 12 caps to this point, but expect that to increase in the future.

Welcome to Arsenal, Shkodran. I can’t wait to find out what shirt number you end up choosing.
