Julian Draxler bid made by...Everton?

Welcome to the new world of Premier League finances!

The twists, they just keep turnin’. Arsene and Arsenal favorite Julian Draxler, whether he is or whether he is not actually leaving Wolfsburg, is apparently the subject of a transfer discussion with Arsen...oh wait no. What?

Everton.

That’s right - Newly rich Everton is reportedly making a bid for the services of Herr Draxler. Wolfsburg says he’s not going anywhere, but Draxler’s contract says he can go if a team pays a €75 million (£63 million) release clause, so Wolfsburg may not have much to say about it.

This is, of course, one of the effects of everyone in the Premier League having more money than they know what to do with - it used to be that a small cadre of teams had this kind of money to throw around, but now that they all do, pretty much every transfer will become a Transfer Saga I think, because the once-”smaller” clubs will be all “OH HEY LOOK WE HAVE A METRIC TON OF MONEY LET’S GO BUY A GOOD PLAYER NOW” and won’t have to mortgage their stadium to do so.

The fun keeps on comin’, and the deadline’s a month away.
