Nacho Monreal had to leave Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Watford early after taking a couple of shots to the leg. I was...not super pleased. But according to Arsène Wenger it wasn’t really that big a deal.
Wenger: "Nacho Monreal has a kick. It's nothing major."

This is good news, not necessarily because it keeps Kieran Gibbs off the pitch – Gibbs is a perfectly fine defender and a capable backup for Nacho – but because it keeps Monreal on it. It appears in the past two games that Laurent Koscielny’s return has somewhat solidified the Arsenal defense, as Rob Holding has grown into the role a little bit and Héctor Bellerín has settled back into form a bit. Shkodran Mustafi appears to be on his way into the club, and he is good, but even then, losing Nacho for any length of time would hurt. He’s one of the top left backs in the league, and we need him around.
Based on what Wenger said, it doesn’t sound like Nacho will miss anything after the international break is over, so feel free to exhale now.
