Arsene’s coveted him a long time, and now he may have a chance to get him.

Well well well. Julian Draxler, long thought to be staying at Wolfsburg, now says he wants to leave:

The Germany international has been quoted as saying that before Wolfsburg said he was staying, they should have spoken to him: “Before one goes public, they should also have a word with myself.

“For me it is so that I have expressed myself clearly after the Euros, with Dieter Hecking, that I want to leave Wolfsburg. The coach knows for more than three weeks.

“Two days after the semi-final at the European Championships I told him how I see the whole situation and what I want – which is to leave the club.”

Arsene Wenger has long been an admirer of the German forward, and while there’s nothing substantive in this article saying that the club is definitely in pursuit of the wantaway Draxler, one would think that if the quotes in this piece are genuine that someone in London is reaching for a phone right about now.
