Arsenal have agreed to personal terms with Valencia defender Shkodran Mustafi, according to Sky in Germany, though nothing has been signed as of yet and no fee has been agreed between the two teams.

Mustafi is still training with Valencia at the moment and no matter what happens with this deal, the chances of him making his Arsenal debut this weekend against Liverpool are nearly nil. Still though, the fact that Arsenal has been allowed to negotiate with the player is a very good sign that the two sides will be able to work something out; in fact, it likely means the deal is very close and only formalities are left, although there’s no guarantee there.

Sky reports Mustafi’s valuation to be around £30 million, which seems pretty fair for a young German international with top-level experience in a world where Yannick Bolasie is about to be sold for the same price.
