Arsenal (and everyone else) to miss out on Morata as Real Madrid won’t sell

It appearts the distance between asking and offered too big for Real’s liking.

Now stop me if you’ve heard this one: a complicated transfer of a high profile, expensive rising star is going to end in the dullest fashion. Shortly after reportedly turning Chelsea’s 60 million euro bid, Real Madrid have announced they’ll be holding on to Alvaro Morata.

Coming off a solid first major tournament, with 3 goals in 4 games for Spain at Euro 2016, Real likely were happy to cash in for the right price (somewhere in the 75m euros has been bandied about) or utilize the 23-year-old striker as Benzema’s partner or competition. Either way, it is almost as easy a decision for Perez to make as buying Morata back from Juventus earlier this offseason. Morata isn’t worth a huge transfer now but likely he will should he succeed on an already high powered offense.

This leaves Arsenal down to plan B’s or C’s, after missing out on Vardy earlier. Rumours abound but don’t be surprised to keep hearing the name “Lacazette” a lot as the last month before the season starts (!!) winds down. Unless there’s something surprising up Wenger’s sleeve... just saying.
