Arsenal have a reputation for bringing in boatloads of talented young players, and then having them largely end up elsewhere to further their careers. Well, it appears today that the next name on that list is one Isaac Hayden, who is apparently headed up north to play for Newcastle United.
Hayden’s a talented enough young player, for sure, but happens to play a position where Arsenal are well stocked, and he spent last season on loan at Hull City to get playing time. I mean, when your name is on a depth chart that includes Mesut Ozil, Granit Xhaka, Calum Chambers, and so many others, you’re always going to be struggling for playing time; rather than go out on loan again, it would appear that he has decided his trade is better plied elsewhere.
I think this will be a good move for young Isaac - after five years learning at Arsenal, now hopefully he can go tear it up at another club and earn the playing time his quality probably deserves. All the best, Isaac.
