Arsenal packed up their suitcases and loaded up the family truckster for their annual summer vacation this week. Their destination: Wally Wo....oh wait no. Their first stop is San Jose, where they’ll be playing in the MLS All-Star Game Thursday night (and imploring the Earthquakes supporters in the house to keep their shirts on), before getting on a plane and making the short hop down the coast to Los Angeles, or Carson to be more exact, where they’ll take on Chivas de Guadalajara at the StubHub Center.

We already knew the biggest of the big Arsenal names wouldn’t be there, having been excused from duty thanks to their extended summer kickabouts, but in talking about the squad that is coming, he said this about Alexis:

Alexis will not go [to the States] because he had an ankle injury. That is not too bad but I will leave him behind as well.

While that’s not, y’know, a medical opinion or a prognosis, it’s still reasonably good news - he wasn’t going to play in the first game or two of the season anyway, but it’s good to hear that the boss doesn’t think it’s a particularly bad injury.
