Arsenal v. RC Lens, Preseason Opener: Lineups, how to watch

Arsenal are back! The Gunners kick off their preseason today in Lens against RC Lens. How convenient!

As you may have guessed, a number of Arsenal’s stars have not yet rejoined the club following their international travails. However, it will be a fairly strong squad with a number of exciting youngsters filling in the roster holes. Per Mertesacker will captain a side (at least while he plays) that includes Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Joel Campbell, Calum Chambers, Francis Coquelin, Nacho Monreal, and Kieran Gibbs, among other experienced performers. Youngsters Chuba Akpom, Gedion Zelalem, Jeff Reine-Adelaide (JEFF), Chris Willock, and Krystian Bielik(stock) will look to lay claim to the annual "Rising Arsenal Youngster Based on Some Fun Preseason Performances."

If you’re wondering why we are playing RC Lens, it was apparently part of the transfer deal in which Arsenal obtained JEFF and Yassin Fortune from the French club.
