Arsenal’s newest signing, former Bolton man and England U-21 international Rob Holding, appears to have his new kit number already lined up. Funny enough, it’s a number we’ve already seen given to another new Arsenal player this summer.
Granit Xhaka was previously announced to be the new holder of the number 16 shirt, recently vacated by Aaron Ramsey in favor of now-departed former captain Mikel Arteta’s old number 8. Xhaka later, however, changed to number 29 because of some weird thing totally having nothing to do with the fact that Francis Coquelin, a person whose starting spot he will almost definitely have taken by the time the season starts, currently occupies the number that Xhaka has tattooed on his back and apparently won’t give it up.
So, you ask, what does that have to do with Rob Holding? Well, I’ll tell you: Rob Holding is now Arsenal’s new number 16! Although there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, you can already buy his kit with the new number:
We can’t wait to see Rob holding the ball for Arsenal.
I’ll see myself out.
