Serge Gnabry has been called up for Germany's U-23 side to compete at the Summer Olympics in August. Gnabry, who has had two lost seasons after injury ruled out his 2014/15 season and Tony Pulis ruled out his 2015/16 season, has maintained a place in the German U-21 team, which forms the bulk of the squad.

Gnabry could've been involved with the first team at the beginning of the season, with Mesut Özil, Aaron Ramsey, Olivier Giroud and Alexis Sanchez all likely to miss at least the first week of the season. But with Gnabry now playing for Germany, he will miss most of Arsenal's pre-season, instead competing against the likes of Max Meyer and Julian Brandt for a starting role.
Germany are in Group C and will play against Fiji, Mexico and South Korea.
