In an effort to get a head start on his first season at Arsenal, new signing Granit Xhaka has taken matters into his own hands and has arranged to work out at Kosovan club FC Prishtina.

As many of you know, Xhaka's Switzerland side was bounced of out Euro 2016 on June 25 following a penalty shootout versus Poland. The new midfielder played at a high level and will hope to carry that form into the club season. Having the initiative to work hard in the offseason, even when it's with a local club, is sure to help his conditioning while winning him brownie points with fans expecting great things from him.
Arsenal's season opener is on August 14 when Wenger and his men will face Liverpool at home. Given that Xhaka was released from national team duty following Switzerland's loss and given that Wenger likes to give his late stragglers roughly a month off, we should expect to see Xhaka ready and able to start the critical opener which could go a long way in deciding top-4 (and hopefully title) status for both clubs.
