Alexis Sanchez had himself one heck of a tournament. Two goals, three assists, a Player of the Tournament award, and a winner’s medal means our Chilean had himself one heck of a June, all things considered.
Unfortunately, that’s not all he picked up yesterday. In the fifth minute, he rolled his ankle something fierce; he played on, because he’s Alexis Sanchez, but was finally withdrawn late in extra time, and during the celebrations he could barely join in as his teammates danced and jumped and did all those things winning teams do.
Today, Alexis shared a picture of his ankle - it’s not, like, super gross, but if you’re not into seeing things like this I’d recommend reading no further, closing this story, and going on with your day.

I have broken one ankle, and sprained both that one and the other one, more times than I can count, so I feel his pain. Ankle injuries are no fun.
Here’s hoping that between now and the start of training in a few weeks, Alexis keeps that foot up, keeps icing it, and is fully recovered by mid-August.
