Where there’s smoke: Arsenal pursuing Lacazette?

It’s an intriguing thought, but it’s kinda improbable.

Now that we’re down to one tournament still going, we’re seeing more and more transfer rumors as that part of the summer starts to gain momentum. Over the weekend, the Mirror reported that Arsene Wenger had “agreed to meet with (Lacazette’s) representative” this week to talk about Lacazette, joining Real Madrid and, uh, West Ham (go new TV money!) in inquiries about the Frenchman’s services next season.

Now, what does this all mean? Probably not all that much; Wenger’s in France for the Euros, and he’s probably talking to a lot of people about a lot of things. But the fact that a striker like Lacazette is available for a price that, while eye-watering, isn’t as crazy as it could be (isn’t the transfer market fun?) means that at least one news source thinks there might be something to it.

I’m not sure I do, really - again, this is totally unsourced, and it could be just some bored hack at the Mirror churning up some pageviews. But, it’s an intriguing possibility, so here we are.
